Field note
Preparing a Klang team for a usage review visit
20 July 2026 · Backup Vertex Base, Klang
A usage review goes badly when the week before our visit is spent rehearsing a perfect restore. Operators then perform a demonstration, we write a demonstration, and your briefing becomes a conversation about theatre.
Tell the team, instead, that two people from Backup Vertex Base will sit beside them and take notes on which backup and recovery features they already use. Tell them we are not scoring individuals. Tell them they may work in Bahasa Malaysia; we will ask for the English label on the screen when we need it for the note. Tell them they may send us out of the room for anything that is not the agreed application.
Do not create extra restores for our benefit unless we have booked a Recovery Path Walkthrough. Do not hide the workarounds. If someone keeps a paper list of restore points because the on-screen list is slow, we want to see the paper. That list is part of how backup features are actually used.
Practical matters from our Klang office: we arrive at the start of the shift you named, we bring notebooks, and we eat elsewhere unless you invite us. Seats with a view of the screen matter more than a meeting room. If parking on LRG GUDANG NENAS is easier for a debrief than your site, say so on the intake call and we will reverse the days.
